For this week’s challenge, with zero context, I asked my wife to give me the title of one of her favorite books and a number. Without asking, she messaged back with, “The Alchemist. #44.”
I grabbed the book from my bookshelf and immediately turned to page 44. Six pages before the end of Part One and I could remember how important this book was for me to read when I found it.
I decided to take a picture of the page and print it out in order to create a piece of Blackout Poetry.
For those of you who have never read “The Alchemist” by Paulo Coelho, here is a brief summary:
“The Alchemist” tells the tale of Santiago, a young shepherd boy with a bad case of wanderlust, wishing to leave the confines of his small town and travel the world to find his own destiny. The novel takes place in the beautiful Andalusian region of Spain. Santiago, dissatisfied with the monotonous routine of his existence, sets off on a valiant journey to discover a lost treasure described in a reoccurring dream. This dream sets him up on a path of self-discovery as he encounters various characters and experiences that shape his journey” source: https://medium.com/@darsepul
I connected with this page and felt an ease as I recreated it into something new. Let me know what you think!
.:Thank you for taking the time to listen to my heart:.

The Alchemist is one of my favorite books. I love this post!
It inspired me to do my own quick blackout poem. 💖🌙
